Google Rating
Most ecommerce SEO problems are architectural, and no amount of content fixes them.
Every combination of colour, size, price band and brand can generate a URL. A store with a few hundred products can end up with tens of thousands of crawlable pages, almost all near-identical. Crawl budget goes to the duplicates and the pages you actually want to rank get visited less often.
A product goes out of stock, somebody deletes the page, and a year of accumulated ranking disappears with it. Done repeatedly across a seasonal catalogue, this is one of the largest and least noticed sources of lost traffic in ecommerce.
If your product copy came from the manufacturer's sheet, several hundred other stores have the identical text. There is nothing for a search engine to prefer about your version, so it defaults to the site with more authority, which is usually a marketplace.
The first month is mostly crawl work. We look at how many URLs the site actually exposes and how many of those are filter combinations. Then at what is being indexed that should not be, and where crawl budget is going. On most stores this alone changes which pages search engines visit and how often.
Then category pages, because that is where commercial searches land. A category needs real content above and below the grid, plus correct internal linking. It also needs a structure that does not fragment into a hundred filtered variants competing with each other.
We work from Sector 102, Gurugram, and have run SEO for Gurgaon businesses since 2019. If the store itself needs building or replatforming, that is covered on our ecommerce website development company page, and our main SEO company in Gurgaon page explains how we work.
Crawl Budget Recovered
Filters controlled so the real pages get visited.
Categories Treated as the Money Pages
That is where commercial searches actually land.
Scroll down. Each service card sticks as the next one slides over it.
We map every URL the store exposes and decide which should be indexed, which should be canonicalised and which should never be crawled at all. Filter combinations get a deliberate rule rather than being left to multiply. On larger catalogues this usually recovers more traffic than any content work.
Commercial searches land on categories, not the homepage and not individual products. Each needs genuine content around the grid: what the range covers, how to choose between options, what the price bands mean. Thin category pages with nothing but a product grid are why most stores plateau.
Supplier copy gets rewritten so your page is not one of four hundred identical ones. Product and Offer schema goes in so price and availability can show in results. Out-of-stock items are handled with a deliberate policy rather than deletion, because deleting a ranking page throws away a year of accumulated authority.
Amazon and Flipkart will outrank you on generic terms and that is not worth fighting. What is winnable is specific comparisons, buying guides, and your own brand searches. Those bring traffic where the margin stays with you and the customer's details stay in your database rather than the marketplace's.
Almost none of it arrives at the homepage.

Crawl Audit
We map every URL the store exposes and find where crawl budget is being wasted.
Facet Rules
Then filters, sorts and variants get deliberate index rules instead of multiplying.
Category Work
Category pages get written content, internal links and buying guidance.
Products & Schema
Descriptions get rewritten, schema goes in and stock handling gets a policy.
Measure Revenue
Reporting tracks organic revenue by category rather than sessions.
Crawl Budget Pointed at Real Pages
Filter URLs stop consuming crawl capacity. On larger catalogues this alone changes how often your category pages are visited and refreshed.
Categories That Can Actually Rank
Written content, internal links and buying guidance around the grid. A category page with nothing but products has almost nothing for a search engine to rank.
Rankings Survive Stock-Outs
A policy for out-of-stock and discontinued products so a year of accumulated authority is not deleted along with the page.
Descriptions That Are Yours
Rewritten product copy so your page is not identical to four hundred others. Without this there is no reason to prefer your store over a marketplace.
Schema That Shows Price and Stock
Product and Offer markup so rates and availability can appear in results, which lifts click-through even where the position does not move.
You Keep Every Account
Search Console, Analytics and the merchant accounts stay in your name. Nothing needs handing back if we stop working together.
Filter by area. A hundred-product store needs a fraction of this. A catalogue of three thousand needs all of it.
Most of them are structural, and none of them is about keyword density.
Faceted navigation left unmanaged generates thousands of near-identical URLs. Search engines spend their crawl allowance on those instead of your categories. Deciding which filter combinations deserve an indexable page, and blocking the rest, is usually the highest-value work available.
Commercial intent lands on category pages. They need real content, not just a grid. What the range covers, how to choose, what separates the price bands. Stores that write proper category content pull ahead of those that optimise product pages alone.
Keep the page, mark it unavailable, suggest alternatives, and only redirect when the product is genuinely discontinued forever. Deleting it throws away every link and every ranking signal that page had accumulated.
If your description came from the manufacturer, hundreds of stores have it word for word. There is no basis for preferring your page. Rewriting the products that actually sell is slow work with a direct return.
Amazon and Flipkart will hold the broad searches. The winnable ground is specific comparisons, use-case content and your own brand terms. Budget spent attacking generic head terms is usually budget wasted.
Organic traffic can rise while revenue falls, if the growth lands on the wrong categories. Reporting has to show revenue per category so you can see which parts of the catalogue the work is actually moving.
Gurgaon's ecommerce businesses split into a few recognisable groups. D2C brands in supplements, apparel and home run from Udyog Vihar, Sector 44 and the Cyber City offices, competing nationally rather than locally. Traders moving online from the older markets around Sadar Bazaar and Sector 14 usually arrive with large catalogues and supplier descriptions. Manufacturers in IMT Manesar selling direct face a different problem again, with low search volume and high order values. Local search matters very little for most of them, which makes this one of the few categories where the map pack is not the first priority. Our office is in Sector 102.
